Annie Powell

Annie Powell is owner and director of Multidiamond Learning, based in the Boston area. While she began her career as a fifth grade teacher more than thirty years ago, she has been in private practice as a life and learning coach, teacher trainer, educational consultant and public speaker since 1987. 

A lifelong fascination with human differences led Annie to 25 years of study and collaboration with Dawna Markova, Ph.D. and Andy Bryner, of PTP, Inc.  She co-authored two books with Dr. Markova: How Your Child IS Smart: A Life-Changing Approach to Learning; and Learning Unlimited: Using Homework to Engage Your Child’s Natural Style of Intelligence.  Annie helped to develop the personal and educational applications for the approach to understanding brain-based differences now known as Mind Patterns.

Formal education for Annie includes a BA in Education and Child Study from Smith College and a Masters degree in Education from Harvard University. She is a Certified Master Trainer in Intellectual Diversity, from Professional Thinking Partners, IncShe is the proud parent of one son, Brian Veivia, who is now 24. 

          Annie facilitates dynamic, custom-designed work with individuals and couples, adults and children, centered around discovering natural asset-based patterns which lead to strategies for overcoming common challenges in learning, relating, and self-expression. She helps people find more joy and satisfaction from trusting and using their unique gifts.

          Annie also offers insightful, interactive workshops and trainings which move people from tolerating differences to embracing and utilizing them in more effective learning and teaching, relationships and collaborations. Annie has offered presentations and trainings to parents, teachers, school administrators, massage therapists, actors, musicians and radio broadcasters nationwide. Her clients have included La Leche League, Muscular Therapy Institute, Finger Lakes School of Massage, Metro Theater Company, NPR, and Berklee College of Music.
